Hiking is the simplest method of being fit in a healthy and ecological way. We offer several routes and trails with a range of difficulty levels at the Natural Park of Los Alcornocales. You will be able to enjoy the wonders of nature, based on your willingness and strength. You will learn the peculiar flora and its colour palette that offers the spectacular environment our adventure goes through, depending of which time of the year we are in.

Medium difficulty. Distance: 1.5 kilometers. Length: 1-2 hours approx.

It begins with a climb through a forest track, where some steep gorges will allow us to enjoy magnificent views of the mountain range, until arriving to a bridge and this great river stream bed. We keep going the trail down and discovering the characteristic flora of tropical area, where the enormous ranges of ferns stand out. We get away from the river to sight the stream bed in a wonderful way, as well as the Guadelmesí Tower.

Low difficulty: aimed for families and children. Total round distance: 4 kilometers. Length: 1-2 hours.

Departing from El Cobre district, we begin climbing and the vegetation becomes slowly thicker, until we arrive to the water mill, currently operating. From here on, we get deeper in the river channel crossing a beautiful stone bridge, surrounded by exuberant greenery. We get to the second water mill and further on we will find a gorgeous and cool waterfall that floods the setting of peace with the water sound. We return through the same track.

Medium difficulty: Distance: 5.7 kilometers. Length: 4 hours approx.

We depart from a very interesting spot: a Bronze Age burial site, the necropolis of Los Algarbes. We keep on our way to Betijuelo village, through a climb full with eucalyptuses that will be rewarded by the views of the Valdevaqueros inlet, right behind our backs. Simply awesome! Once we arrived to Betijuelo, we will be escorted by stone pines for the rest of the path. It is mandatory to stop at the geodesic spot, overlooking magnificent and majestic views of the Strait, Tarifa, Punta Paloma, San Bartolomé, Bolonia… up to the Trafalgar Lighthouse, in Caños de Meca. We will then begin descend to the Puerco brook, with a sandier soil and near the end of this interesting trail

Low-medium difficulty: Distance: xxx. Length: 3-4 hours approx.

This trail departs from La Caleta in Tarifa and it goes along the edge of the coast to Algeciras. It is the European most southern trail, as we find ourselves at the further south setting of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a trail with large and varied plant life that will bring us closer to the biodiversity of the area avian and sea fauna. During the itinerary we will be enjoying the smell of the sea and the astonishing views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the neighbour continent, Africa, just few miles away.
